Woke up this morning to the very sad news that Air America is shutting down. I will really miss the widsom of Rachel Maddows, Thom Hartman, Ed Schultz and even the controversial Randi Rhodes. At least some of these folks have their own internet shows and some have made the transition to TV/msnbc. One man wrote this am about AAR's demise...
"AAR was my oasis in the days leading up to the 2004 election and in the dark days following it. Now, they’ve basically turned against half the Democratic party and if they lose their radio audience and by extension, their advertisers, they will have no one to blame but themselves."
I'm not sure he is right..might be. If you're reading let me know your thoughts.
I felt that Air America was in danger when they were sold - to a very right winged rich guy. Blocking the progressive voice is the way to complete control of media that features "dissenting voices" - and I believe that this is the intent of the Far and Middle Right. Now who will have any way to question the actions of corporations and politicians? How depressing.
